The Kano State Government has reformed the management board of Kano Pillars Football Club and named former Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, as the club’s General Manager. This restructuring forms part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance the club’s position in preparation for the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, announced Friday that the decision was made after consulting football stakeholders following the board’s one-year tenure expiration.
Under the previous board, Kano Pillars finished ninth in the recently concluded NPFL season. Several board members have been reappointed, with new members also joining, with the intention of bringing new perspectives and strengthening the club’s competitiveness.
The newly formed 17-member board consists of Ali Muhammad Umar (Nayara) as Chairman. The other members are Salisu Mohammed Kosawa, Yusuf Danladi (Andy Cole), Idris Malikawa Garu, Nasiru Bello, and Muhammad Ibrahim (Hassan West). Additional representatives include Hamza Abdulkarim Audi Chara, Muhammad Danjuma Gwarzo, Mustapha Usman Darma, Umar Dankura, Ahmad Musbahu, Gambo Salisu Shuaibu Kura, Rabiu Abdullahi, Aminu Ma’alesh, and Safiyanu Abdu.
Abubakar Isah Dandago Yamalash and Ismail Abba Tangalash remain Media Directors I and II. Musa, a former Super Eagles captain with a notable European career, is expected to add vision and professionalism to the club. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed confidence in the new leadership, highlighting Musa’s appointment as a move to combine football expertise with administration, boost investment, and energize supporters.
