Nigeria’s D’Tigress have advanced to the final of the 2025 Women’s Afrobasket in Cote d’Ivoire. The team won against Senegal with a score of 75-68 in the semi-final at the Palais des Sports de Treichville in Abidjan on Saturday. D’Tigress in action against Senegal at the Afrobasket
D’Tigress reached the semi-final after defeating Cameroon in the quarter-final on Thursday.
The match against Senegal, Nigeria’s longstanding basketball rival, was notably more intense than their prior encounter. The Senegalese squad was coached by Otis Hughley, who previously led D’Tigress to three consecutive Afrobasket championships between 2017 and 2021.
D’Tigress led 22-17 after the first quarter, despite the tough challenge.
