According to the reported framework, Ukraine would be required to make several substantial concessions as part of the peace deal. Chief among these is the recognition of current Russian control over Crimea and parts of Ukraine's eastern territories occupied since 2022. The plan would also demand that Ukraine refrains from joining NATO, adopts a neutral military status, and accepts limitations on the size and capabilities of its armed forces. Additionally, the proposal would require Ukraine to enshrine these commitments in its constitution and engage in direct talks with Russia regarding the future status of disputed regions. 

The ballistic missile program, declared “nonnegotiable” by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, remains a key sticking point in diplomatic efforts with the United States over Iran’s disputed nuclear ambitions.

Central to the U.S.-backed resolution is the establishment of an International Stabilization Force tasked with entering, demilitarizing, and temporarily governing Gaza. The plan also introduces a “Board of Peace” to oversee the implementation, though the resolution does not specify the board’s membership or governance structure.

After two years of devastating conflict in Gaza, Hamas has agreed to a comprehensive peace deal mediated by former U.S. President Donald Trump. The agreement will end hostilities, secure the release of all hostages, and trigger an Israeli military withdrawal to an agreed border, marking a significant breakthrough in one of the region’s longest-running crises.

Iran has also criticized the IAEA for what it calls a double standard, accusing the agency of failing to condemn Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, despite its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Western governments, led by the United States and supported by Israel, have long accused Iran of seeking nuclear weapons—a charge Iran has consistently denied. Tehran insists its nuclear program is solely for civilian purposes and maintains that it has the right to enrich uranium under the NPT. 

Before the sentence was announced, Combs addressed the court, expressing remorse for what he described as his “sick” actions and begging the judge for leniency. As the sentence was read, Combs showed little emotion, looking at Judge Subramanian and then down at the table. He shook his head as the judge referenced the impact of his actions on Cassie Ventura and on children involved in the case.
